SA saved 420 MW during Earth Hour – says ESKOM

According to Eskom the country saved 420 MW on that one Saturday evening due to the Earth Hour initiative. 
The initiative contributed to the saving of 400 t of carbon dioxide, 224 t of coal and 576 000 litres of water, owing to the power stations not needing to generate the 400 MW of power.
