Forthcoming legislation on Solar!

Posted by Jen on April 26th, 2010

In July 2002, Eskom was converted from a statutory body into a public company as Eskom Holdings Limited, in terms of the Eskom Conversion Act, 13 of 2001. The two-tier governance structure of the Electricity Council and the Management Board was replaced by a Board of Directors. Eskom produces approximately 60% of the electricity on the African continent and, in terms of generating capacity, is the TENTH largest power company in the world.

Eskom’s 26 power stations are located in different parts of the country, they use coal, water, kerosene or uranium as their primary energy source and between themtogether keep the lights burning throughout southern Africa. Forthcoming legislation will apparently require all of us to have solar geysers fitted at our residences by 2012.

So why not avoid the rush and start now, South African solar hotwater heating specialist GeyserSmart has just launched a high pressure solar geyser which is the first affordable solar geyser for South Africa www.geysersmart.co.za .

Solar water heating has been used around the world for more than 50 years already.  In some places it is compulsory to install solar water geyser in every new home that is built.  Solar heating is clean energy that does not pollute the environment or exploit our limited natural resources.  The solar heating system that we offer takes less than a day to install and is the first really affordable solar in SA.
The system is designed to supply hot water by collecting hot water during the day in an insulated geyser, capable of retaining hot water overnight.  Usually we overheat our water, which is why we are always adding cold water right?  Our solar systems which are the best priced in the country come complete with a geyserwise (computerised thermostat) system as well to manage your hot water 24 hours a day.  Now you can heat your water to just the exact heat that you need, saving huge amounts of electricity.  The system has a quick override button, which you can switch on and have hot water again in just 30 minutes.  Click here to see our products www.geysersmart.co.za The system requires little to no maintenance.
